The Uni-Capitol Washington Internship runs for eight weeks. The internships will commence on Friday, January 2nd 2009 and conclude on Friday, February 27th in 2009. Accommodation for interns in Washington will be available. Interns work full time in the US Congress on both administrative and substantive matters, in exchange for unique access into and educational perspectives on the US Congress.

Participation in this Internship may be credited towards the following internship subjects offered by Political Science:

If you are enrolled in any of the above subjects and are accepted for the Capitol-Washington Internship you will undertake your placement at the US Congress. When you return to Melbourne, you will undertake the written-work assessment requirement for the internship subject that you have enrolled in.

For more information, see the internship information flyer. An audiocassette recording of the Washington Internship information session held on Friday 2 May is available in LRC Reserve for borrowing by students.

Applicants will be processed within a few weeks and successful candidates will be informed by email.

Successful applicants can apply to the Melbourne University Scholarship Office for funding assistance via the Melbourne Global Mobility Program.

The Uni-Capitol Washington Internship Program has run very successfully from 2004 to 2008. I encourage all students to consider applying for this Internship.
