First Year Transition Program

The transition to first year university can be confusing and difficult.

In order to help students studying Politics or Sociology, the Department of Political Science — in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts — will be running an introductory seminar and establishing study groups.

All first year students are encouraged to register with the Faculty of Arts to participate in the Faculty-wide seminar series and the Departmental seminar and study groups.

Faculty of Arts Seminar

Wednesday 9 March 1 - 2 pm
Public Lecture Theatre, Old Arts Building

This seminar will give you some insider knowledge on how to survive the first year of your Arts degree

School of Political Science, Criminology & Sociology Seminar

Wednesday 16 March 1.00 - 2.30 pm
Faculty Function Room, Fifth Floor, John Medley Building

This seminar introduces new students to the Department of Political Science, its staff members, departmental expectations in relation to tutorials, lectures, readings and assessment, and will include a short interactive session presented by the Chaser group on ‘what’s wrong with opinion polls?’
