BackgroundKevin holds a DEA and Doctorate from Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. Before joining the Sociology Program at the University of Melbourne in 1996 he taught at the Phillip Institute and RMIT.
Research Kevin's research focuses on questions of action and identity, in particular
in the world of young people: from the experience of groups living contemporary
social problems such as poverty and urban dislocation, to exploring
new forms of commitment and identity in social movements. Young injecting drug users, embodied identities and social worlds: an ethnographic study. (with John Fitzgerald) Hepatitis C and initiation into injecting drug use in a rural setting.
